We'll probably be hearing how de Ruyter has been stealing the money instead of paying it over to Oracle, soon....
As frustrating as it is to be seeing all the bodging, you are going to have a thoroughly sorted Landy at the end of the day.
It will be worth the slog.
With the reach of platforms like YouTube, I'd suggest you get kitted out with a toolbox and get stuck into the smaller jobs yourself.
You'll soon come to the realisation whether you have "the knack"...
Try this for size....;D
Cheers! Here's hoping...
Why did the gearbox eat itself?
One of the oil cooler pipes chafed through and dumped the oil overboard.
Now, sadly for sale.

I've not actually used it before, but there is something out there.
Mooi, man!
So, when you're done with the gearbox thread, will we be seeing a diff overhaul thread?......::);D
Put the lid back on the Brannas bottle, Oom!;D>:D
Agree 100%, there.
It's the Acetic Acid that does that, the best way to tell is if it smells like vinegar, don't use it.
A normal Non-Acetic RTV Silicone will be fine, but the Sika and Soudal stuff is the best...
Aside from the extra volume of oil, I wonder if a gearbox cooler located above the present one would work for the engine oil?
There is space for it, it would just need to have a way of draining it...
Why?
It IS for sale.
Funny you mention that, I was thinking the same thing the other day. The left corner of the engine bay should be able to rehome the filter and the centrifugal separator quite nicely.
Most of the...
It could be you got the wrong part number or the wrong switch was packaged with your number.
Add R5k to that and you can have my P38 Range Rover.
Sorry, finger trouble....
Steam pipe. Nice, thick walled reinforced high temperature stuff.
NOT the fuel/oil/air line you get from Midas or similar.

I love how in the Twitter link, they refer to not having bothered to pay for a contracted service and now facing denial of said service as a "contractual dispute", as if paying was somehow optional.
For that little bypass pipe, a reliable fix is to cut a length of steam pipe that is a few millimeters longer than the gap and fit it when you put the head onto the engine.
I did that to mine, and...
I had a "round nose" Austin Mini as my first car, it started off as an 1100cc and when it got cooked, thanks to that fiddly little bypass hose on the back of the engine, it gained an ex-race engine's...
I was taught that an ultrasonic is more effective if the bath is filled with water and the part being cleaned is in another container with the applicable cleaning solvent/solution in that.

That's what I meant with the "mod"....
And, one day he can't get the plug out and has to drill it, and suddenly Landies are ###.....???
Party Ma's se kinners.....:-X
I see the gearbox filler has had the Allen Key mod done in place of the Torx bit being used.
I stand under correction, but the park function should be a motor function, not subject to the relay.
I cut the ends off and used them to run flexible lines.
