Maybe they all were V6s with 20" wheels or something silly behind the steering wheel? ;D

Re: Prado 120 - living with and little fixes

Warren, which aftermarket springs have you installed and did you fit shocks, too?
Is that a VX or TX Prado?
Usually, fitting an Old Man Emu suspension with the lowest constant weight rating would...

Re: 3.2 GV, would you buy it?

Compared to a VW Up a V6 petrol SUV would be heavy on fuel. Compared to the 2.4 4 cylinder petrol, the 3.2 V6 isn't much worse. If you drive it nicely, that is. Kick the horses and you'll have to...

    Re: Land Cruiser 300 - 3.3L V6 diesel

No, some dealership workshop managers might be of the opinion that it's sealed for life.
And since hardly anyone reads the owner's manual properly, they get away with it and these rumours are being...

    Re: My FJ buying experience

If I remember correctly they specialized in Fortuner D4D tuning? ;D

Andrew, if you want MORE power, just take the FJ to the coast. If you think it's fast at 1700 meters, at sea level it should...

    Re: My FJ buying experience

It's done either by the factory or by those transporting the vehicle, apparently it prevents the new vehicles' tyre from making a "wobble" due to prolonged periods of standing in the same spot in...

    Re: My FJ buying experience

Remember, the Hilux, Fortuner and 70 series got the single VVT-I engine that makes some 176(?) KW. Your FJ got the dual VVT-i 202 KW motor, like the Prado 150, but is a good 300 kg lighter.

Great stuff. Congratulations and enjoy the FJ!
  11. Re: How many FJ Owners / How many problems (or dislikes?)

If you had an aftermarket aux tank fitted, chances are that particles left over from manufacturing that tank, either paint chips or metal shavings, got from the aux tank into the main tank and then...

    Re: Land Cruiser 300 - 3.3L V6 diesel

Strange, in the FJ owner's manual the service schedule shows that the ATF must be checked every 40k km and changed when necessary.

    Re: Land Cruiser 300 - 3.3L V6 diesel

Bruce, I wouldn't be worried about the "clunk". When you put the gear selector into P, the gearbox is not under any strain since it is in neutral. It is a locking mechanism on the prop shaft which...

On a modern engine with a half way competent ECU an EGT gauge would maybe allow you to monitor that the ECU does its job rather than give you valuable information.

    Re: Strange FJ rumbling noise/vibration...

I had a similar rumbling / vibration with the Amarok. For some reason the prop shaft had an inbalance all of a sudden. They swapped the prop shaft and the vibration was gone.

    Re: Land Cruiser 300 - 3.3L V6 diesel

Somehow I don't think the Ranger and LC 70 series have been engineered by the same people or even with similar mindset.

Re: Small trailer for a roof top tent.
