Search this guy's channel. He has comprehensive videos on Prado air suspension. There might be a tip or trick to be learned.

Have you seen the steel price? >:D
To be fair, a decent sized piece of stainless isn't cheap, but if the table is well made, it's for life.
I'm busy drawing up my own design to send off the the...
I know people who've done it.
I know people who think it's a terrible idea.
They are the same people. :)
Remember, when you lift the body, everything shifts.
Gear lever is affected

I can confirm that Pro Fender front suspension off a D4D fits a GD-6 perfectly.
Takes about 45 minutes a side to remove the factory strut and fit the replacement.
Must be the tyres.
My 2.8 4x4 AT gets a consistent 10.6l/100km driving 50/50 town/highway, empty. And I drive like a granny.
I've seen my 75/10 Victron show me 122W on my 100W panel. Once.
The factory is in KwaDukuza.
On a related note, there's a new factory going up near me that has the contract to produce the wiring harnesses for these new Fords. Their existing factory does the Hilux harnesses.
I can't...

I have the non-isolated version in the same vehicle. It works perfectly.
Depends.
It's far easier for me to have my panels permanently attached to the roof.
My battery will run my fridge for 5 days without being charged in between.
There's almost zero chance my...
If it's anything like mine (for sale, BTW), the rear gate opens 270 degrees and then folds up against the left hand side. I presume those mounting holes on the left hand side verticals are for the...
Yup.
I think it comes down to how one goes about it. Stickers, reviews, product placement can be done well.
Alternatively, it can be done like 4WD-24/7, at which point it actually becomes a...
Hi All. I'm looking for a local source for welded mesh, something like the attached image.
I need approximately 1.5m x 1.5m, approx. 50mm squares, approx. 5mm thick.
Where on earth would I even...
I bought exactly the same thing at the same time with the same smile.
:D:D:D
All good, I got it at massively below retail though so I'm still smiling.
Purely out of interest, what's the updated price on a Descent™ Mk2?
I bought one last week, but I'm interested to know how much I overpaid. ;););)
Hilux: 122000
Qashqai: 274000
Polo: 346000
For the mileage and price, it's a good buy.
For the brand, particularly the age, hell no. :D
Sadly, true. Even my 5DIII is getting long in the tooth and drastically losing resale value.
My only comment here is that I absolutely love these tyres. Excellent value for money in my books.
If only Toyota would offer the higher spec'd vehicles with the smaller engine options.
I LOVE my 2.8, but having driven the 2.4, I would be quite happy with it, but I want all the bells and...
In July 2020 I got a 2017 2.8 GD-6 D/C 4x4 AT with 93k on the clock for R400k.
Perfectly doable.
It is sequential mode, not sport mode.
The only thing that it does is limit the highest gear that you can use. So S6 is exactly the same as D. S5 is exactly the same as D except it will never go...
Genuine Toyota or 3rd party?
Cost? Looks awesome.
1. Yes. Probably 105AH? Ideally both batteries are same size, make and age.
2. Yes.
3. ? Positive from B2 to B3 positive. Negative from B2 to B3 negative.
3a. Not needed, but recommended. Fuse one...
Yeah, no need for the PV at all, except when you don't start your car for 3 days.
Turns out, charging LiFePO4 batteries at higher temps (around 60 deg C) is actually better for their lifespan:...
If you're dropping R10k on a battery, it only makes sense to spend that little bit more on a charger or DCDC that will look after that battery for you.

Yep. Prado belonging to a mate of mine down the road. He ended up installing a generic roof rail to mount his genuine FR rack on because they just said no.
Odd.
The Isuzu/Toyota is an example.
The point is, this has nothing to do with a home made rack. They won't sell you the feet even if you already have a FR rack to fit the feet to.
Sure. But let's say you sell your Isuzu and keep the FR rack. You buy a Toyota and want feet so you can fit your FR rack to your Toyota. They won't do it.
The result is a company that I wouldn't...
