    Did you measure the output of the charger? If there is no or low reading on the terminals that can send you in the right direction. Is the wiring on the terminals still in good state?

    I think the V6 is worse on fuel than the V8. Knowing the V6 is petrol and the V8 diesel. My experience is that the Hilux V6 is not a brilliant towing car.

    The rubbers in the axle can be warn out or begin to soften. Check the shocks and the mounting rubbers. Check Bolts on the axle for ware and tare.
