  1. Re: Limpopo Crossing at pafuri Border Post to Gonarezhou

No problem crossing the Limpopo as there has been a severe drought in the basin. Ask Dumela Wilderness Safaris (wonderful place to camp or stay in the fixed tents) about the Cahora Bassa powerlines...

    Re: Gonarezhou in December

Depends on the rain. Little or no rain then usually the Chipinda Pools to Chilojo Cliffs road is sometimes open. However rain just a day or teo before or when you arrive and the road will be closed.

Re: Pafuri Gate to Pafuri Border Gate.

The official line on the sanparks website is that an overnight stay is required in KNP or Limpopo Park if using Giriyondo or Pafuri borders. It has never been enforced at Pafuri and probably never...

  6. Re: Amarok keys in water, how to get it working again

Not worth salvaging as even if you take out the battery, dry it out in rice or however, it will probably fail again sometime and somewhere inconvenient. Replace.
  7. Re: Is driving through Mozambique safe at the moment?

    Hi

When is your trip? Wet season December to May, Niassa Reserve often inaccessible and even if you get there the road network may be blocked by seasonal streams and waterlogged tracks. Dry...

  13. Re: Is driving through Mozambique safe at the moment?

    Hi there.

From a crime / banditry perspective, currently the area to avoid is Mocimboa da Praia to Palma about 1400km north of the Zambezi River. So very far from your route. On the other hand,...

Langlaagte does issue this. Not the same as a vehicle police clearance, but is accepted as such by customs. Worked for me at the notorious Chirinda border which is also the only time in...

  21. Re: Malawi Dcember 2018 returning through Mozambique

Note that my trucks and buses comment does not apply to the Chimoio - Sussundenga - Moribane - Dombe stretch, but to the rest of the route.
  22. Re: Malawi Dcember 2018 returning through Mozambique

    Hi again

A few years ago I would have recommended Milange - Mocuba - Caia - Inchope, but Caia to Inchope is in truly shocking condition so no, don't go.
  23. Re: Malawi Dcember 2018 returning through Mozambique

Tete to Inhassoro too far in a day as Muxungue to Inhassoro very badly broken up section of the main road and can take 4 hours. A route that I have used is Chimoio then South to Sussundenga and...

Very nice vehicle for the price. The UN in Africa favours these vehicles so there's another recommendation. Far less electronics and computer controls than Prado.
