Re: Marius's Touareg R5 life thread.

Pajero on finance cost me less than a "paid of" treg over the last 12 months of ownership.

Ive had the pajero just over a year now. Done around 20'000km (270'000km to 290'000km).

    Services, ...

Re: License and towing a caravan

Correct, however RSA law dictates that regardless of what the manufacturer allows, you aren't allowed to tow something heavier than the tarra of the vehicle.

    Re: Stuck injector

That looks like a port injector. It won't work with a port injector.

And with direct injection it's dangerous. That injector can come out like a bullet. You need a blanket as arrestor.

    Re: Treg Owners

    The new tuna is nice.
    The treg is also nice.

Id rate both the same in terms of running, repair and maintenance costs.

Drive both, buy the one that stirs your loins.

    Re: Spotlights banned

Modern cars have laser lights which throw more light than a lightbar.

Dont hate the light, hate the wrong user.

Proper lights have saved me from many animals.

    Re: Pajero Suspension concern

First things that fail are the strut bushes (shock bush that mounts the strut to the lower control arm) - hard to spot as they are protected by the mounting plates.

    Egr or intake manifold flaps.

Cheaper to blank and code out than to fix.

    Re: Transkei Road trip

Re: Amarok TSI intake valve cleaning

    valve ease won't work

The problem is due to direct injection. There is no port injection to clean the deposits. All of those deposits are PCV related.

I nip the nut, then peen it to stop it working loose.

To get it to grip tighter, bend the tabs towards the cap a smidgeon.

    Re: Pajero Lexus 3UZ conversion.

    I wouldn't.

Drop the same motor in there. Cams, branches and freeflow and you will be close to the v8 performance at a fraction of the price/headaches.

Re: Can electric cars work in South Africa

    Not true.

If the charging infrastructure is there, it can be done.

Modern batteries have the tech now to add around 300kms in 20 minutes.

Problem is our infrastructure is lacking way behind....

Re: Triton 2.4 DiD fuel consumption

Hang af van die kar. As jy meer as 200kw het, kan jy maar n size groter gaan sonder groot verrigting verlies.

Just had the same on a brand new tyre.
