Re: The new 2020 Pajero Sport

Re: New member in need of advice

If they were so saleable then why are they always discounting them? If they could sell them for list price then they would. The resale is not as good as people think.

Now youíre going to be in trouble [emoji1787].

But yes, the Fortuna is overrated & overpriced. Resale is also a myth.

Iíve never understood how some of you guys get 1000 km on a tank. I never got close to that. I maybe got 770 at best [emoji38]

Re: Double cardan joint or CV for propshaft

Have you tried just changing the UJís, because this often makes a positive difference after a lift, due to the old ones that will be running at a disturbed new angle.

Re: Double cardan joint or CV for propshaft

I dunno if youíll find one in SA. Even the Jeep ones have to be imported.

But you might not need one.

Re: Double cardan joint or CV for propshaft

On the Jeeps we use slip yoke eliminators whereby we opt for a slip on the actual shaft in stead of a yoke on the TC. Then you end up with a longer shaft. But the longer the shaft, the more you get...

    Re: Duster 1.5 Turbo 4x4

Renault Paarden Eiland. But R3500 was just for the belt replacement. The rest of the major service costs more. Iíd have to dig out the invoice to give a total amount. I canít recall.

Re: Double cardan joint or CV for propshaft

Interesting topic. With rear leaf springs we can rotate the axle upwards but itís probably more complicated with coil sprung suspension. The geometry gets tricky.

Due to the lift, would you not...

The bossí name is Hennie. Plenty of CTN 4x4 guys have stuff made up with him. He did an exquisite job on converting my prop shaft diff connection to a much stronger unit.

  24. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

All dealers seem to be cutting deals at the moment.

Toyota in CBD are giving R90k off a Fortuna. Some much for their allegedly brilliant resale. Same story with the RAV.
  25. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

    I agree with this.

Pajeros are great vehicles but theyíve become dated & not very powerful for what you pay.
  26. Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

The old 4.7 GC had solid axles so it canít be compared to the later WK2 which has independent & air suspension. Itís also has anti sway for towing. Braked, I think they can tow up to 3500 kg.

    I...

    Re: Duster 1.5 Turbo 4x4

The cambelt change is at 90kkm in SA. Overseas itís at 120kkm.

The cost at the dealer was about R3500.

I drove my Duster to 185kkm & the motor was still perfect. No known turbo issues that...

The 2 sets of AT tyres that I had were wider 235/60 R16. Yes they used more fuel but retained the overall diameter.

Personally I wouldnít touch the motor until the warranty is up.

    As far...
