    Traveling Lesotho

I have been meaning to do this write up for some time now but just havenít gotten to it. So here goes.

It is a short write up on our SE Lesotho trip during December 2019. This part of Lesotho is...

Where are you planning to braai at Nagle, on the SW bank at the dam wall or on the island by the tented camp?

I will join you for the braai.

    Re: LandCruiser 76 V8 changes since 2013?

Around 2018/19 on the 79 it went from auto to manual hubs on the front.

And from rear discs brakes back to drums.

On both the 76 and 79 everything stayed just about the same, and no there is no...

    Re: Land Cruiser V8 60 000km service

I don't agree with the non Toyota price, R 2800 will just be oil and filters.

Remember that 120k km is a major service, on a pick up, not sure about the 200. Every 40k km is all oils (on the pick...

Re: AL-KO Steadies on a Bush Lapa

Thank you to everyone that replied.

I have ordered a set of AL-KO steadies and will fit them when they arrive.

The thinking behind it was not just the jockey wheel sliding through the clamp but...

    Re: Land Cruiser V8 60 000km service

I did a 20k km service not to long ago, front and rear bearings.

All the seals and gaskets, front and rear, and even the grease from Toyota, didn't cost more than 2k.
    That is excluding the other...
  15. Re: 6.5kva diesel generator - Bundu vs Addendorff

Can't comment on the Addendorff genny but I do have a 8.5 KVA diesel genny from Bundu Power.

Bundu's service and parts availability is very good. I have never had a issue, 5 years now, never...

    Re: Semonkong

Are you asking for places to see or if the Terios will be fine on that road?

The road from Matatiel to Qachas Nek to Semonkong is a tar road.
After Patlong you will get to Seforong, about 45km...

    I use these.

Not completely flush but close enough.

AL-KO Steadies on a Bush Lapa

Has anyone fitted AL-KO drop down steadies to their Lapa?

I find that the front jockey wheel only is not good enough for me.

    1. The shaft moves, slides through the clamp.
    2. With front...

    Re: 12v Sparks flying!!

It's one thing just crapping your self on a normal 12v system, it's another thing when you are working on a truck with 24v system and a few more amps.
That 13 spanner will ark and weld it self to...
  22. Re: Touareg - newer V6 diesel vs older V8 diesel

I can know exactly what you mean. It's fun driving a V8 I must admit.
  23. Re: Touareg - newer V6 diesel vs older V8 diesel

I can't comment on the V8 or the V6 but looking at it from a value point i would go with the newer vehicle as it will have a better resale value when that time comes.

What are you planing to do...

If it ate a turbo in 2000km you have got a oil feed problem, and even then, if there was a oil feed problem, you wouldn't have driven 2000km

    Fortuner Re: Help with turbo

I honestly don't think that it was your turbo.
The air is very thin up there and vehicles do battle, even my V8 doesn't pull up there.

I wonder how many warranty "turbo failures" Toyota sits with...
