Sticky: Re: Trailblazer - some experiences and problems

    Uys,
    Thanks for clearing-up this issue.
Hopefully my shock shopping is still a few years away.
I had front brake pads replaced at the recent 75k km service. The invoice indicates they used Isuzu...

  6. Re: Sellers trying to duck out of obligations - advice please

Unfortunately, the rush to get it fixed was the problem. If I understand the process that was followed correctly, the repair was done under the mechanical insurance and then the selling dealer didn't...

Re: 2017 Ford Ranger handling issues - SOLVED, but WHY?

    My personal opinion:
I don't think the electronics will interfere with as small a discrepancy as 50% tyre wear.
I am convinced that the best grip must by on the rear wheels. If full tread has less...

If the booze-ban is lifted by then :-)
Let's see what date is settled on. I'm hosting a 4x4 group on the mountain for the long-weekend in Sept.

If you do the suggested route, then this lookout point at least requires some 4x4 traction

    Re: Extension to towbar

There is a 3500LB sticker on that ball. It suggests that towing of 1.5 ton trailer is OK. Gen4 Pajeros have pretty long tow bars as well.

    Re: 2.8 GD6 Auto Consumption

I Googled "Stockman rails" and selected this image. I don't know what your rails look like, but I'll bet 12 illegal Windhoek Lagers that rails like this will have a dramatic impact on fuel...

    Re: BMW wheels on Amarok

Smaller rim, with a correspondingly larger tyre, is an offroad bias setup. The benefit of reduced pressure over corrugations, or on soft sand, can be very significant.

    I agree.
And to add: I wouldn't trust an open border. They can get slammed shut very quickly again.

    Re: Bigger tyre advice pls

If you go for 17" rims and the "standard" 265/65 tyre, then you increase the rolling distance by just under 4%. That will really not be noticeable.

I assume that is what you are considering with the offering of your current rims.
