Re: Getting a feel for a BAD decision...?

My uncle had one, same as yours, but with 80'000km on the clock.
The "stealers" gave him R130k for it.

I would have paid R180-R200k for it. It was in an immaculate condition. Seat covers and...

    Re: Secondhand Bakkie advise needed

If I may give my input on this.

    1) Your budget is possibly a little low.
    2) Are you looking at a 4x4 or 4x2? For 4x2 you might get away with it.
    3) Double Cab. They're easier to find, and are...

Re: DIY Canopy Kitchen Unit. What material?

You can use either MDF, shutterply| or supawood. Supawood or shutterply is what I would have used for myself.

    Re: What spider

It's a Golden Orb spider (as it is known, or as 4eTouareg said).

Quite harmless, but can give you a painful bite.

The females are big... the males are tiny in comparison.

    Re: Suzuki jimy 2021

The official answer is 30kg on the Jimny load bars.
That said, you're not using the roof bars.

I've seen people load the Jimny up to 80kg on top, but it is seriously dangerous and scary. Off-road...

A bumper needs to look classy. This one fits the bill very nicely.

    Re: Bushpower gets my vote

    Works fine for me :P

    It is a DNS issue.
So basically your ISP's DNS server that it uses has the incorrect, or no, result for the hostname lookup.

Isn't it a root borer beetle? Anthracocentrus capensis

I had one in Hoedspruit last month.

One of the people ID'd it for me but I cannot find the post now.

    Massive beetles indeed.

It is about on par for buying from a dealer.

The canopy is ~R25k new (very nice).

I've only seen photos of it. Did not look overly rough or challenging.
  15. Re: Kruger campsites with good cell phone reception

The entire stretch on the road from Tsendze to Mopani has wonderful cell coverage!
In December I even had a few voicenote conversations with my Mrs at a few spots in the camp (hit and miss).

I heard the same, and saw a single post on Facebook to the effect.

Genevieve Maasdorp from Sanparks should be able to give clarity, she is the Regional Communications Manager for the Arid Region.

Re: National Luna 90 Liter Twin Cooling issues

I used my one Snomaster to freeze a LOT of meat, about 60kg worth, and it took about 4 days to freeze everything. It's a lot of work to freeze all that content.

    Re: Canvas dome tents

I have the 3m dome tent with the gazebo/verandah. It helps with rain, so your tent stays dry, and it adds some much needed shade. Yes it is worth the extra 5kg.

  31. Re: Connecting Solar panel to your DCDC charger of Solar controller..

    It depends on the controller.

My Victron Energy regulator/controller states that I need to connect it to the battery first.
    Why?
Because my controller accepts both 24V and 12V battery setups....

    You're making me very jelly.

Re: Victron Orion Smart DCDC charger 12 V 30A

I run mine on the charger mode when running the car.

My charger cut-out is 12.7V or something? Just above what a full car battery should be.

The start-up voltage is 13.2V abouts.
