    I would not camp at all up there. Lived on Molteno for 30 years, the locals are opportunistic through out the area. Stay in safe places and be careful who you get friendly with.

    Exactly how we did it. 2 days in the park then 5 minutes at the Mat Mata border post. Nice drive via Stampriet to Mariental. From there Swakop, Sossosvlei and the south.

    My Freelander did 350k km only trouble was the fuel pump in the tank that came lose. Swambo hit a ditch so hard if broke off its mountings. Replaced the cam belt myself was a great car.
