Sticky: Re: Useful Mitsubishi Contacts / Spares and Services

    Hi guys

I bought a 2009 2,5 Triton and want to do some preventative maintenance.
    Bakkie is on 190,000km.

I want to replace all drive train oil. Gearbox, tfbox and diff.
What oil do I use? ...
  2. Re: Pajero Sport Engine sounds - what is normal?

Then your car is perfectly normal.
  3. Re: Pajero Sport Engine sounds - what is normal?

My 2.5 had the same clatter. And also wastegate noise

The balancer shaft belt ripped a tooth on 50,000km.

My current 2.5 manual Triton sounds much better.

Re: Colt 2.8 tdi clubcab engine rattle

    Mine did the same.

Turns out the timing chain was worn and the pistons were hitting the valves at certain RPM. Or thats what the mechanic said.

But Jelo seems to know a lot about these engines,...
  5. Re: Can a tyre with slight flat spots smooth out over time?

Yes. LR to RF, and so on.

I got the advice from a very respectable indy mechanic. Lots of guys know him.

I also thought my wheel bearings were shot, but he said it's the tyres that were...
  6. Re: Can a tyre with slight flat spots smooth out over time?

    Did it with Hankook AT's

    Worked well.

Still alive to tell the tale. ;D
  7. Re: Can a tyre with slight flat spots smooth out over time?

Cross rotate and drive it for 2000km.

I had the same issue and after doing the above the hum is gone and the tyres are perfect and quiet.

    Thanks for the offer.

But after being on for +-3 months, last week the light went off and hasn't returned since.

So I guess its sorted now.

Maybe this is the right thread to ask.
If not, please point me in the right direction.

    I have a 2011 KB300DTeq.
    200,000km.

The amber engine light came on. I took it to a reputable indy who...

Re: New tendency: standing up while lane splitting

Here I am again arguing on the internet.... ;D

COG should not be mentioned when we talk about lane splitting.
When lane splitting, the most important thing is being able to brake really, really...

Again. Go tell the motogp racers they have more control when standing up.

Please let us know if they gave you the correct answer.

Re: New tendency: standing up while lane splitting

Ek sien almal is nou skielik bikers.

As staan op teer jou meer beheer gegee het, weet die MotoGP racers darem maar min. Dalk moet julle vir hulle loop vertel hoe hulle moet staan en ry. Ou Rossi...
  16. Re: 2014 Isusu kb300 4x4 front wheel bearing replacement

Do the needle bearing while you are at it!

At your odo reading, they are due for replacement as well.

    Wrt to the wheel bearings:

Fit Timken bearings. Not the cheapest ones.

    Use the old...

  21. Re: NWR Sesriem & Torra Bay. Are these prices correct?

    Why camp at Sesriem?
It gets really busy there. If you were there 7 years ago, you will not believe what it looks like now. Its a tourist trap for the hordes of foreigners in their overland busses...

Anyone who gets 14.5km/l in a 300Dteq is either lying or very bad at math.

Great bakkies. You wont be sorry. But rather pay a bit more for a low mileage one.
