    Re: KJ crd inline thermostat

Can anybody help with a spares outlet where they have recently found stock. I would also prefer a 85 degree unit. This t-stat is a real quick fix for a common problem.

    Re: What batteries for a 5kva inverter/charger

Perhaps not generally accepted as lead acids are cycled to 50% DOD. The use of lead acid can provide 160Ah+ for those few times when you want to cycle to 80%+ DOD during prolonged rain and thick...

    Re: Victron DC-DC in Amarok

Just to add on some of the errors we see on line. Here the 12/24-12 is shown. The picture gives the output as 30-30V while it is 20-30V. Also the load is shown as 120W while it is 280W.

As it is commonly installed close to a wall I guess there is less dust than in free air. Very easy to put filter material on the suction side and velcro pads to keep it from sliding off when no...

Re: Power off the beaten track.

2000W is quite a lot to use from a 12V system but can be done with a few batteries. If you had a 24V system I would have chosen the 2400W/3000VA Axpert. The problem I found with a small 155W panel is...

I have also looked at the cool air blown into the house but the cowling and then a pipe through the roof tiles at my entrance would not look good. I would also want to use a butterfly/shutter to...

The confusion comes partly because post #4 from sunstore Web link displays a charger yet they call it a converter. The units look totally different.

    Re: Victron DC-DC in Amarok

Post #12 does warn correctly as the converter has a fixed output of 12/24/48V. The charger is adjustable via the APP. This shows the models of converters.

Ek het so ruk terug 'n BMW se rack laat op doen. Die ou het draaibank en doen alles wat nodig is as jy die rack vir hom bring. Ingegee en die volgende dag gaan haal. Dit was omtrent R5000 met 1jr...

Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

You can buy it locally at about R2500 and get a warranty of 1 year. A far better deal.

Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

At the current price with R444 as the only shipping option before customs it has become a bit expensive specially with the Rand being strong up to Thursday.

    Re: Powered wheelchair

The OP did indicate they camp off grid. As stated it depends on what current gadgets are used for charging. With this known one could give some ideas for the extra 2x45Ah 12V batteries.

Re: Home Solar/Victron install - DIY bit by bit

With new 100Ah DIY cells at R950 and BMS at R2100 it seems like the DIY is R6000 cheaper. So you have to decide do you want the bells and whistles for the extra R6000 and self contained. 2nd life...
  21. Re: How are all you Vaalies who are off grid doing?

    Re: Defy hybrid fridge freezer

That is what we think. It seems they just try to save on grid use even if you might still need about 20-40W from the grid during the day. May be one can save more by adding another 30W panel but one...

Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

What was stated is during boot up it checks for a connected load but does not give these voltages as a output up to the point it shows 230V. Thus it's save to use.

    Re: Dual Batrery setup Question

AFAIK 8mm cable is not common. Normally you get 6 and 10 sq mm. As it is only 1m and you only have a maximum of 25A from the Ctek you can use 10 sq mm to the battery with no real draw back.
