    A campsite on the banks of the Berg river, which forms part of a working farm.....beautiful views with an abundance of waterbirds. The only occasional disturbance being the ore trains on the Sishen...

    At the bottom of Van Ryns Pass is a quaint little spot called Bagdad Cafe…some interesting touches and and some downright weird ones… really good pancakes and roosterbrood.

    The route from the R355 via Calvinia and then to Vredendal over Van Ryns Pass with incredible views over the Knersvlakte…. It literally will take your breath away, and unfortunately cellphone cameras...

    The Afrikaburn site is about 4km from the Tankwa Tented Camp…, worth a visit to experience the silence and desolation from the Sky Labyrinth.

    Tankwa Padstal…the one and only… unfortunately the pub was closed due to current restrictions, but we did manage to get really good roosterbrood…. Always worth a visit, and you can buy ANYTHING...
