I'll give it a try early next month.
  2. Poll: Re: 1953 Colchester Student Mk1 6" gap bed - A restoration project

Impossible as in postal service is useless or not allowed to import it?

I'm at the point of ordering and don't want surprises.
  3. Poll: Re: 1953 Colchester Student Mk1 6" gap bed - A restoration project

Don't waste your time, just search nickel anode on Ebay.

They go for about R180 for 0.8x25x100mm.

For zink try someone that rebuilds outboard motors.
    Ask for FUBAR trim/anodes.
  4. Poll: Re: 1953 Colchester Student Mk1 6" gap bed - A restoration project

I hope you saw that he did a Myford lathe and drill press.

He also does the body filler thing and he replaced the original information plates and it looks amazing.

Didn't see this coming. Must have cost a lot for the conversion only to revert back.

There are 2 holes in the front bearing, bottom one is big like the rest but the small hole is for the oil feed to the rocker shaft.

  14. Re: 3rd Party Coolant Level and Temperature Sensors

My EMS2 uses 2 self tapping screws into the plastic water reservoir.
I can't remember the drill size but it was very small.
They are placed in a horizontal line below the water level.

Discovery 1 Re: My 1998 300Tdi Auto Rebuild and Upgrade

    Hope this helps.

I made a timing tool from an air line fitting. I cut off the coupling side, tapped out the ID to M6.
Then I drilled a M6 cap screw and silver soldered the end of a 4.8mm drill...

3 wire, but you just need to add a power line.

About R1000. I got it from Landyluvver (on the forum) he is one of the distributors.

5W40 is more than adequate for your temperatures.

    There might be some wear
Mine also drops below 1 bar for a short while after a long hot trip.

Which type of sensor do you have?

The big one is the old type and was more prone to weird readings.
