Could you give us more details of the stove.
I used to use a benzine stove which was excellent.

    Re: Gps sales

I have both but rely far more on the GPS.
The latter combines nicely with the PC for route planning
and itís far easier than using a mobile phone. And I have a neat track record of where
    we have...
  5. Re: Using solar panels in winter sunshine - winter camping

Thanks! I am sure many will find it most useful. Especially the tip on watching the charge rate.
Impressed with you using the 12A/h battery.
    I never considered this!
  6. Re: Using solar panels in winter sunshine - winter camping

    Bruce - very useful stats!
I can see your set-up works well.
As a matter of interest how long have you had the Flexopower panels?

Anyone mounted a tablet in a Jimmy

Space is very limited. I am wondering if it is feasible.

At the moment the iPad mini tablet lies on the passenger seat
when I am driving alone. It really needs to be mounted over the centre area....

Re: Solar blankets - anyone using them

But if you want a fold up you pay for the convenience. Can't compare to glass panels.

The conventional fold up panel 200W will cost close to R8 000.
So the blankets are much cheaper.

Solar blankets - anyone using them

They probably have to be draped over a car which means moving the car each time to follow the sun and there are bound to be shadows from snorkels, aerials etc.

    Prices though seem good compared...

    Re: BURR GRINDER for COFFEE

I use a hand powered Hario.
Have a Krups burr grinder but never use it as it can't match the flavour of the Hario.
    There is a huge difference.

Also have a small Bosch which likewise won't use...

  18. Re: Using solar panels in winter sunshine - winter camping

what would you seek to change.

How many watts do you think is ideal to power a fridge and lights during winter....

    Re: Victron Mppt

I think an extra panel will be a good idea.

One supplier says his 200W offers 10.47A of current probably averaging 8...

I have mine working on both Android Phone and iPad.
iPad(version 3) connects faster but that could be due to the fact
that the phone is quite old now.

    I have 3.

Checkers have the same table under their Bushbaby brand much cheaper.
The only difference is that the genuine article has a better finish.
    I use both.

Has anyone noticed the prices which are being asked for solar ovens/cookers.
I am surprised how expensive they are.

And if my two panels panels are not matched - how will this affect output?

Do you find much variance in output between the various panel brands or pretty much the same?
    Any recommendations?
