    Re: Monkey proof ammo boxes

My ammo boxes have those plastic sliding locks on the lids. They might eventually figure that out too, but we haven’t had issues so far.

I just Googled and found that the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe is not running anymore. What good memories we had on that train. There is just something about steam engines.

Living in Tanzania as an Expat

    Good afternoon

I would like to know if anyone has lived in Tanzania semi permanently? Dar es Salaam specifically.

What I’m most interested in is infrastructure, education and costs for private...
  8. Poll: Re: a Dedicated trail vehicle - What one would you choose from these?

I laughed at the Rubi drivers being bored as a good friend of mine said as soon you engage the lockers nothing is fun anymore.

The Rubi is by far the most capable vehicle, but owning a Jimny...

Re: Has the Wrangler bubble burst?

My opinion, with Wrangler’s just as with Jimny’s, one doesn’t just buy the vehicle, but also the lifestyle associated with it.

I feel Wrangler people, if they have the financial means, will still...

That beard is so majestic I think even Estee would give it the nod of approval.
  12. Re: We need to define what exactly “camping” is.

I’m definitely a cheap camper. If I drove a vehicle capable of giving me more than 4.8km/l I’d also probably try chalets etc. Fuel is the most expensive component of going away for us, even for 5...

Re: R350 000.00 What would you buy?

At one stage I was looking for a vehicle that can do 10km/l, is affordable, family safe, have Bluetooth, 4x4 capable, fun factor.

    Doesn't exist. I bought a FJZ105 instead. I’m really happy....

Re: R350 000.00 What would you buy?

Most possibly the funniest post ever. You sir are a legend. Sometimes ride comfort and gadgets doesn’t make up for enjoyment. You’ll thoroughly enjoy that vehicle, granted you know what your in for.

Re: This is not good for the Mozambique

And I agree with you. However the British and Germans, Dutch, Portuguese aren’t here anymore to stabilise Africa, so someone should.

I’m choosing the better evil, the one I would live with easier.

Would you prefer the Russians or China to rather get involved? Iran?

Where should the influence come from? Africa will never be Africa, someone will be involved.

Re: This is not good for the Mozambique

It was either the US or China. I prefer the non communist help.

If you didn’t notice, this is another cold war. The play ground is still Africa. And the US are behind.

    Re: Used Cruiser prices

    Supply, demand and (perceived) reliability.

Before I get stoned, I drive one myself, 105 FZ, but would just as easily bought a Patrol if I could find a good one at that stage.
