Re: New member with a problem!

I am not that familiar with the WJ, but my guess would be that the joint problem might be overloading a suspension lift (bigger angle it operates under) combined with bigger tyres will contribute...

Re: Expired vehicle license in Namibia

Situations like this happen, but I can't imagine not doing a pre-trip inspection on all the documentation as well as inspection of the vehicle and trailer itself before embarking on any long-distance...

    Re: Habituated wild animals

Agree with all of the above. I do not agree with your nr 1.

Please allow me to say that in a way I find that most of the suggested actions are a bit over the top. The pendulum is in danger of...

    Re: Habituated wild animals

I have never been to East Africa and cannot comment on the behaviour of the wild animals there.
Contact with the Mabua lions is my experience with habituated, out-of-control and dangerous wild...

    Re: Indicator chime when towing?

I had the same problem with my Jeep Wrangler when towing my trailer with LED lights.
Solved the problem by fitting additional indicators with normal globes on the sides of the trailer nose cone.

Re: Have trailer manufacturers lost the plot?

For years we preferred to camp minimalistic in remote areas with a ground tent and later our RTT - definitely never felt the need for a trailer.

A few years ago we were joined by friends who, at...

    Re: Pekaneut bome

Hulle verloor hulle blare in die winter en is nie rypgevoelig nie. Jong boompies se wortels moet net nie uitdroog in die winter nie, want dan vrek hy. Te veel water laat egter hulle stam bars omdat...

Re: Looking for a 2nd hand 36dcd weber

Suppose you won't be interested in a 28/36 then.
I have one of those if you are interested, but it needs a good clean as it wasn't used in 30 years. Came from a later model (twin inlet) 1600 VW...

    Re: Leopard Incident- Matopi

Fencing off a campsite won't help. As already stated earlier, even the fenced camps in the Kruger have their leopards.
If a leopard really wants to get you, there is nothing that is going to stop...
  26. Poll: How do you split the driving time/responsibility?

    I do all the driving.

Since our daughter got her drivers licence she has a tendency to ban me to the back seat of the car when in game parks.
Must admit that I love the extra space, being very...

Re: What do people say about your Wrangler?

Eight years ago there were not too many Wranglers on the road with an aux fuel tank.

Each time I filled up, there would come a time that the petrol attendant would start squirming and looking...
  29. Re: Latest visit to Mabuasehube and Mpayathutlwa KTP - Oct 2017

Howard, we were forewarned by Hardekool.

I made tent pegs from 10 mm round steel with a good sharp point.
    We really needed them!

  34. Re: General Camping Etiquette in Southern Africa
