    Re: Grand Vitara Fuel Consumption

Another report for what it is worth... 2.4 manual, 99% city, 11-12 liters per 100.
And you donít get much power for all that petrol. Get a 3.2 if you can at all.

    Great car otherwise.

I suspect over here nobody knows either, but unlike in Germany they are not honest enough to admit it and stop taking peopleís money.

Re: HUGE fuel price increase next week...

I monitored my costs when I commuted with a BMW 800GS... and SWAMBO's 1.4 Suzuki Swift was still cheaper per KM overall. The cost of chains, sprockets and tyres killed it for the bike.

    I did it...

  9. Re: Any experienced (on / off-road) bikers In Pta?

The DRZ400 is a good bike and spot on for your needs. R19k is a good price, on the low side.

Iím surprised to hear it is not roadworthy - wasnít aware they ever got sold stripped down like that.

    Re: NEW 2018 Suzuki Jimny

As I have it the 1.3 in the current Jimny is unique to it. Iím sure they sell enough of them around the world to justify a model-specific engine.

Re: High Quality Seat Covers For Suzuki Jimny

I had those generic canvas type ones (from Game) in my Jimny and Escape Gear in my Defender. If I had to do it all over again I will buy Escape Gear.

    Re: Tyre speed rating

I donít see how they can penalise you for a speed rating lower than originally fitted? It is illegal to drive more than 120 anyway?

So, in a country with a 120 max, surely it should be above board...

Another reason to move the breather thing is that the current position it the best place to install your ARB compressor later.

Re: Good replacement for my SUV?

Have you looked at the Suzuki Grand Vitara. No diesel option but if you can find a nice v6 auto youíll be very happy.

Bit smaller than the Kia though (I think).

How reliable the TDI will be is besides the point, the rest of the drivetrain will probably not survive all the torque.
  18. Re: Cape Townians - How much have you spend to combat Day Zero?

I haven't spent a cent. Not planning to either. When (if) day zero comes I don't want to be anywhere near the inevitable mayhem in the streets, so my plan is to simply leave.

    Long term the plan is...

Re: Why does a bike chain break?

Chains on my bike get replaced every 20 000km. I maintain them, but most my riding is off tar and long trips which accelerate wear. It is just a normal consumable like tyres.
