  3. Fortuner Re: 4x4 windup protection and how to check for signs of windup?

They only added stability control and went from 16" to 17" wheels. Full time 4wd from the start
  4. Fortuner Re: 4x4 windup protection and how to check for signs of windup?

Depends which Fortuner you're talking about. The D4D shape was permanent 4wd and the newer 2.4/2.8 shape is part time.

On both you can cause damage obviously but it will be neigh on impossible to...

Re: Full time 4wheel or Rear wheel

Oom Pierre, with respect. You are trying to make a point which does not exist. If a full time 4x4 will come to a standstill because of one wheel losing traction, then surely a 2wd will also loose...

    Re: DSG gearbox

I really don't want to jinx myself, but having done a couple of kilometres since the recalibration, I have to say the box changes smoother than ever. Even better than when new. I get the impression...
  7. Re: Where can I get a replacement 2012 Toyota Fortuner gaiter?

Sparnar are you talking about the leather/vinyl section which is visible or the actual rubber one fitted underneath to seal off from the outside?

If the first one, I'd try a scrapyard first. If...
  8. Re: Wheel flares for Toyota 80 Series (1995)

I've repaired mine years ago very successfully with two pack epoxy. Depending on the damage it might be worth a try. Or look at Gemini or N1 4x4 for 2nd hand

  10. Re: How to protect your trailer from stone damage?

I've lost three rear windows on three different vehicles due to trailers. One long mud flap on the rear bumper seems to be the simplest and longest lasting solution. Looks like @#$% but works.

    Re: DSG gearbox

Got my car back. Dealership admitted they might have screwed up the calibration procedure. Even the two keys had to be recalibrated! Box is very smooth now, hopefully this is the end!

Mine is also wet clutch. The problem is not clutches, it's the mechatronic unit. Three in one week here!

    Re: DSG gearbox

So my car has been repaired! Cost me 220 euro for labour out of a total bill of 1350 euro. Can't complain except for the fact that I had to put up a fight first. Gear changes actually feel better now...

    Re: Propshaft alignment

One most important factor. The angle of the UJ at the diff must be the same as the angle of the UJ at the gearbox output shaft and in phase.
