  1. Re: Condition of N3 from JHB to Villiers and the R26 from Villiers To Clarens

I must agree with this. There has been some extremely serious accidents here through the years.

So the Tweeling-Frankfort road has now complete degenerated to bad gravel?

    @Hedgehog, I don't...

    Re: Northern Kruger report

The riverine forest next to the Levuvhu river, with those huge fever trees, is one of the most magical and beautiful such forests in southern Africa; in my book anyway.

I always get shivers to see...

Re: Show us your Mountain and Road Bicycles

Three months later and I have now done just shy of 700 km total on the new bike. Such a pleasure to ride a bike which is correctly fitted to you. 8-)

Maybe corn on the cob aka mielies as well.

Guess some sort of animal must/should be tanned too. .::)
  7. Re: Condition of N3 from JHB to Villiers and the R26 from Villiers To Clarens

Good to know thanks. I have not been on the Bethlehem Harrismith road since 1996.:)

For me it works getting off at Warden, it feels like a detour going to Harrismith plus it means getting away...
  8. Re: Condition of N3 from JHB to Villiers and the R26 from Villiers To Clarens

Villiers to Frankfort is fine but Frankfort- Tweeling is riddled with potholes. Well it was last year. I will be surprised if it is fixed, only thing that will help is a complete rebuild not just...

Unless the trailer have service brakes. Got it thanks.

I would not want to tow more than that with a Fortuner anyway.

Re: License and towing a caravan

Both an EB and a B license allows you to drive a vehicle of 3500 kg or less. The only difference is what you may tow.

B license = less than 750 kg GVM.
EB license = more than 750 kg GVM (but...

    Re: Tsendze Camp

April can still be quite warm, but less so than December and less humid.

Tsendze is popular and the camp gets full over school holidays. If you can go outside school holidays, do so. 8-)
  19. Re: One night stop over in Hoedspruit, where?

Exactly. We were anyway thinking secondhand or demo, a brand new car as a first car for a 'jong lat' does not make sense to me. ::)

  25. Re: The Volkswagen up! as a viable city car choice
