Re: Cruise control on BMW bikes

Also use a Kaoko on my R1200GS Trophy. A relatively cheap DIY install that works well. Don't find it unsafe at all.

    Re: Bush Lapa mods

Very nice, although, to avoid the stress and work just replace your batteries with a BT lithium. 1) You can track the SOC on your cellphone 2) Your BL will be around 30 kg lighter and 3) you free up...

    Re: Home solar system recommendation

    1. Sorry to say but do not rely too much on advice from this forum. As a pro solar I find most of the solar advice here amateurish to say the least.

    Re: Inverter switching off.

Stem saam. Hou in gedagte die standaard is 230v +/- 10%. So 253v is die boonste afsny punt. Jy kan dalk die limiete opskuif, maar is dit wys? Ek dink nie so nie.

Fortuner Power point for windscreen devices

I know I'm OCD, but I hate loose cables hanging over the dash. Where is the best place to pick up power and how did you hide the cable in your GD6 Fortuner/Hilux? Please share.
  8. Re: Advice on replacing batteries: offgrid system

Compare the specs, especially the battery V and discharge current. Talk to independent installers about issues (comms errors in particular) and look carefully at the warranty.

  10. Re: PV Solar Geyser Conversion Kit on non-solar geyser

Forgot to mention, I set the app to cut the PV at 60°. Don't want the geyser to boil.
  11. Re: PV Solar Geyser Conversion Kit on non-solar geyser

Converted our stock standard 150l electric geyser to PV with a Geyserworx unit and 4 x 260w panels about a year ago. Works beautifully. Most days the water will be 60° by sunset.

  26. Re: Are the EB license requirements killing the camping industry?

We live in a country that is over regulated and under policed. This is just another example. If it moves, regulate it. If it does not move, regulate it anyway, in case it moves.
  27. Re: If going LiFePO what is the best 12V Management wset up for a vehicle

I replaced two 102Ah's in my trailervan with one 1400 watt hour Blue Nova (= 108Ah). Similar usable power, recharging quicker ánd I'm saving 36kg in weight and a bit of space.

Yes you can, but be sure to use a regulator before the BH on the A-frame. I use a Flexopower roll-up panel on my Boskriek 1353. Double checked it with the BL technical folk. No hassles.
