Petri, I totally hear where you are coming from. But LC especially the 70 series, was never intended as a luxury or recreational vehicle. It is a work horse. And that is where they properly shine.

Then I must arrange this test on an open forum. And you bring the filters of your choice.

    Re: Land Cruisers too uneconomical?

I change oil and filter every 15kkm.
I also have a UDF filter in the diesel line.

This is the cheapest vehicle to run, that I have had in a long time.

    Re: 2013 D4D Engine Bang

There is an argument that the more dirt in the filter, the finer the filtration.

At UDF I saw a test that when there is dirt in the filter, and you give it a good bump, corrugated road etc, it...

Re: 1995 Toyota Camry expansion tank

Toyota never made that water bottle in the first place. It was subcontracted to Mr What Went Wong, from day 1.

Re: 1995 Toyota Camry expansion tank

Mixing the plastics is a huge thing. Picking the right blend is the big problem.

I have seen plenty older cars with a brittle tank, but looks like the latter cars use a different blend.

    Fitted...

Re: Rear steering of trailer to turn sharper???

Was looking at an ox-wagon at the Blood river monument. They did it on those wagons.

Evidently where you make that pivot point, will determine the radius of those rear wheels.

    The ox-wagon had...

Ford & Mazda Re: Ford Fiesta Engine problems

Have they done a wet and a dry test on that compression test. The direct injected engines(petrol) have a serious problem with collecting carbon on the valves. A wet test should confirm this. Then it...

Ja, dit gaan aanhou. Daardie engine moet uit en oor ingesit word. As daar so baie skete is, dan kan en net imagine hoe lyk al die ratkas en engine mountings.

En dan soek hy 'n throttlebody.

Why no carrier bearings on a trailer?

Carrier bearings, as I know them are being used more and more on cars. Initially they were just on the fwd Golfs, but now the Renaults have been using them in the back as well.

    So why not use them...
  26. Re: What manual gearbox oil will help with notchy shifting and hard cold shifting?

Oil that is a bit heavier. Sometimes ATF is used and I totally believe that is to light. ATF is at about 15w.

Make sure what that gearbox demands.

PS. I had a TDI Golf 4 with a notchy gearbox. Put in 25w60 and she was happy.

    Re: 2013 D4D Engine Bang

I haven't pulled the piston yet, but I doubt it.

If the pipe leeks air, it make the combustion hotter, higher EGT, but it should also cut the fuelling.

So yes, close call. This 3.2 I know is...

    Re: Extremely hard ride

    Some tricks here.

Firstly the mix shriks 1.5%. So you can't use an existing bush to make a mould .

Then I also reccommend you make a flanged bush.

So the idea is to make 2 bushes. 2 halves....

Yes, you can dial in the shore hardness you need. But it still doesn't come out of an injection moulder.

Yes for sure. Nice soft tyres and you can handle sandy conditions as well. Only problem will be to get going in sand. Could burn the clutch.

    Otherwise, enjoy.
