    Re: Poseidon Xtreme Regulator pricing?

    Damn. EOL.

I need to research the electronics upgrade to a Vision and see what's involved with that. Helium is too expensive these days!

  3. Re: Victron multiplus 500-1600va inverter/charger

Although certainly not spec'd to your size, my solution for home was very DIY as I needed to keep my desk (all the IT stuff) running and protected from dirty power.

    I have a Victron 500W inverter,...

    Re: Toyota Fortuner Brake Pads

On my Hilux the previous owner had the shudder thing and it was fixed with new discs and pads at ~30k km. Those pads lasted until the 110k service when I got the same call. I was shocked at the price...

    Re: Electric fence backup.

It is, yes. The battery I'm talking about is a DIY. 4 cells and a BMS.

3.65V/cell is 100%. I use 3.55V/cell when travelling to be sure I have enough juice for cold beers so that is what I have...

    Re: Electric fence backup.

    LiFePO4 at 100% is 3.65V/cell which is 14.6V.

I run fulltime float charging at 14.2V (3.55V/cell) on Li.

    14V should be fine.

This is the route I drove last week Monday & Tuesday. The circled areas are pretty corrugated and stoney, but keep an eye out, deflate to 1.8 (cold), stay below 80km/h and keep inside the ruts and...

Re: Real world fuel consumption 2.4 double cab 4x4

My Hilux is the 2.8, Auto, 4x4 and I have very heavy (standard size) tyres fitted. And a roofrack. I average between 10l/100km and 10.5l/100km. Your consumption is definitely off.
  16. Re: Best roof rack for the cab of a Hilux (new shape)

2 things I would change if I were to do this again.
1: As above, that deflector would be a single piece
2: I would learn how to measure the contour of the roof better so the side rails had a...
  17. Re: Best roof rack for the cab of a Hilux (new shape)

No, that was a design error. It started getting noisy from about 110km/h. Most noise was in a headwind or side wind. Not too bad in calm or tailwind.

I have since added an additional deflector...

    Re: Grand Cherokee Diesel

    Haha, no.

That WJ of mine was such a pleasure to drive - those few months that it actually worked.

    Then it caught fire.

Certainly less boring than a Toyota! ;D
