    Re: Discovery 2 maintenance

If it's got an auto gearbox, have it properly serviced by someone you trust to do it correctly. You can do it yourself but will need an assistant to bleed it correctly when refilling it.

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

    Thanks MaxPrins.
I had a look for a readymade solution that I could buy locally before I went the route I did but couldn't find what I wanted. I landed up making a roller out of an old vice to roll...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

I finished fitting the tent pole stowage pipe and brackets to the back of the Xplorer. The metal straps that go around the pipe are 20mm x 2mm that I rolled and then welded to the plates that attach...

    Re: Compressor pipe perished

If you were closer to me in Jo-burg you could collect the yellow pipe I took off my compressor. I've ditched it and now only use the Indi-Flate extension pipe to connect to the compressor. All I...

Re: Road closure Jozini Kozi Bay

I see on social media that the trouble in the Jozini area is still ongoing.
Most of our group that will be staying at Kozi Bay Lodge at the end of April will be travelling on the N2 from Gauteng. I...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

I wanted it to be removable so that it doesn't pull out of the skin when travelling on bad roads. Below the window where I positioned my one there is wood structure between the inner and outer skins....

    Re: Disco 2,TD5 Wiring

When I first got my Disco 2 Td5 Auto I was worried by the number of electrical connectors I found in odd places that weren't plugged into anything. After a bit of investigating I found that this is...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

Yes Cats, it started off as a double wheel assembly.
With your one you can add a wheel and axle spacer to either side of the "fork" with a long bolt through all 3 wheels.
    The attached photos...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

It was actually quite easy. I used the standard bolt that went through the 2 wheels as I didn't add any width to the assembly. The wheel I fitted into the frame was slightly wider in its centre/axle...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

I finished the upgrade to my jockey wheel assembly yesterday. I wanted to get more sizes on the footprint of the jockey wheels but the wider wheels that are available are crazy prices. I landed up...

Re: Discovery 2 Td5 air filter conversion

Can you not get a good second-hand standard airbox from one of the places that have scrap Disco 2's like British 4x4?
That to me would be a better option than ding a modification that might not work...

    Discovery 2: Re: Ultimate Disco2 Td5 Build

Defender Re: Ratchet and jack needed

The jack looks exactly like the one fitted to my Disco 2 Td5. The one I have is painted a red/brown instead of black. There are lots of Disco 2's in the scrap yards so you can look there for one....

Re: Any way to tell if buying knock off tyres?
