  8. Re: R5000,00 to replace Audi lost key!! Any cheaper alternatives?

The catch is that usually you are not paying just for one car but for a few cars, motorbikes, household etc. My no claim bonus is R16,000.00 so I am better off not claiming

I've just recently realized the power of this type of tape!

Re: Load shedding and caravans or trailers!

We have the option of a gas stove and an induction stove.
The gas hardly ever gets used.
Induction outdoors is the best as there is no issue with the wind

Re: The do's and dont's of sand driving

Some people advocate using the rear diff lock when driving in thick sand.
This doesn't seem logical to me so I have never used it.
    Am I wrong?

Re: Overlanding.. Do you really need a 4x4?

    Maybe you should ask this:
How many overlanders first had a 2x4 then bought a 4x4 and now have decided that to go back to a 2x4?
I doubt there would be many

90% of the time it might not be needed but it is there when the situation arises.
I do however engage 4x4 on most dirt roads as it helps with ride quality and...

    Re: Water Sediment Filter

Look at the Little Luxury Adventure filters.
I mounted one on an aluminium frame, the water is then fed through this filter into my holding tanks.
