    Keep your setup as is, or add the second panel to your camp setup, if the charge controller can handle it.

    The alternator will charge much quicker than the panel.

    Your issue is not what the inverter can supply, but what the batteries can supply to the inverter. A bigger inverter will not solve the problem.

    Depending on the battery chemistry, one is looking at a charge current around ~ 14v+, where a 12v power supply will provide a constant 12v output. You will not get any charge going.
