    Problem sorted, I had the fridge set to cut out at 11.8V so when the power supply dipped below this voltage on startup the fridge would automaticaly shut down.

    With no load the PSU is 16V and when I connect the fridge it goes down to 12.6V which is the same as the outlet in the car . I was wondering if maybe a fridge does not like these switching PSU`s...

    Does not work too well , try it and see which way the car pulls when braking , you will be surprised how much it pulls to one side , done this got the T shirt.
