    Re: Selling FL2 for parts

R18K for a TConverter repair seems a bit over the top.

I had a TD5 TC refurbished for R3k. To remove and replace the gearbox was in the region of 3-4K...How did they arrive at R18K? Unless they're...

    Re: Huge land rover dilemma

What impresses me is that the forum has been discussing, arguing the broken crank issue since 2011 (or earlier???) , never ending story....

And yet we start the same discussion in 2020 hoping for a...

Re: PV higher this year than 2019

Every time I read your post I turn green with envy!
    What is your setup?

I am starting to get the impression that the Goodwe only allows 2400W/MPPT, despite it allowing 500V and 11A per MPPT. I...

Partial shade on panels in series.

I'm in the unfortunate position that I have 3 of 7 panels (series) that are covered in shade from 3:30pm.

My question is what happens re power generation?
Are the 4 panels still able to produce...

Re: Ford or Merc - what would you do?

    Thank you!

Yes, I got confused between BMW X350 and the Merc bakkie 350...

That's why I missed the plot.

Who in his right mind would consider the Merc? TIC.

    Escom wants price increase 25%

    I really feel for Escom.

They have managed to siphon off BILLIONS due to BEE incompetence and now need a price increase to stay operational.

Re: Ford or Merc - what would you do?

What do you want from the vehicle? Get the one that does the work that is required of it.

If you want to brag only get the BMW, much more brag value than the Ford.

    Insurance costs, hijack...

Re: TD5 Oil Filter Leak BAD

It's a pity you don't have a madman, it will alarm if the oil pressure goes over a set limit, mine is set to 5-6 Bar I think.

At least you'd have had some indication of oil pressure rising too...

Re: Taking our SOHO off grid

FYI: I have 15x404W Canadian solar. In Winter I get 20kWhrs/day. In Summer, no rain 30-35kWhr, so even with 16 panels you will only really save 40% of your daily requirement (sunshine time) and in...

    Re: td5 oil pressure concern

On the TD5 in a hot climate you can go to 15W-40. The 5W-40 was for the UK climate, never gets hotter than 20C!

I run mine on a 15W-40 oil, with the 5w-40 I was getting low pressure warnings.
