    The D4D was factory fitted on the 90s for sure, in the early 2000 , there are many around.

    My aviary was on a balcony, so we had no rats, luckily.

    One thing I have seen that helps keep predators and creepy crawlies out of garden aviaries is to have a double mesh and a a cement base.

    As grips said, the expansion bottle is not pressurised and can lose coolant over time just through evaporation.

    You need more investigations before writing the head off.
