Re: 4Wd-27/7 Ute of the year!

Interesting that the Amarok scores highest in 5 of the categories, and none of the others equal that. Horses for courses.

    Re: Amarok reverse

True. That same marketing department will have their hands full trying to sell the new Amarok to knowledgeable or informed VW customers as pure bred VW. Serves them right.

    Re: Amarok reverse

One more reason why I love my manual 132kw 4 motion Rok. Read an online Aussie review a while ago regarding the 165 kw V6 Manual Rok with low range ( Available in Oz). The writer was adamant that it...

    Re: General AT3 Grabbers?

I can concur with this. Rok now on 284 k km. 3rd set of Grabbers. No issues with punctures. Lots of gravel driving in the Zululand area (not the best gravel roads, and often washed out). Next set...

    Re: Isuzu 3.0 2007 - Intercooler

I wanted to say "suction control valve", because that is what went wrong on my 2008 d-tec, more or less around the 210 000km mark. Happy that it is only your intercooler, but coming to think about...

    Re: Amarok out of fuel

Apparently it is not good to do it that way, however I have done it twice now after replacing the diesel filter. My Rok is approaching 300k fast, and touch wood, no ill effects so far. If the diesel...

    Re: Team CIT Dealer

Jip, same here. So disappointing. It looks more and more like ford engines and drivetrains will be used. They (vw) are really going to have their work cut out to convince customers that it is not a...

Re: How to read my Amarok's fuel gauge

Yes, you are interpreting it correctly. When a bar is displayed, you are actually busy consuming that bar. I always look at the second to last bar for an indication at what is left in the tank, to be...

Re: Engine suggestion for a Discovery 2

You will end up hating the discovery with a old low torque essex V6 engine. Rather go the V8 Lexus route, if you want to go petrol. Pity the TD5 rebuild went south. If they are properly repaired,...

    Re: Amarok built by Ford

Stem saam Hein. My minimum voorwaardes voor ek die nuwe een sal oorweeg. As dit nie so gaan wees nie, sal ek waarskynlik net `n draai by Ford gaan maak om te sien waaroor die nuwe Ranger gaan,...

Same here. My 2013 4 motion manual 132kw (274k km) is starting to do the same. Takes 11km of driving in the morning to reach 90. Ordered the thermostat on Friday. Should be here today.

Re: Amarok Auto and Torsen Centre Diff

Yes, pity we will never see the V6 manual in RSA. The 132kw 4 motion manual is really not to be sniffed at Stephen. I see VW still list them as an option. I also had a 90kw before getting the 132kw....

    Re: I see Raptors EVERYWHERE

Agree. Here in my neck of the woods, I hardly ever see one. On the other hand, a lot of V6 Amaroks around, which price wise is more or less in the same territory as the Raptor.

Re: Amarok Drinks coolant on long trips

Did the low level warning light come on, or did the engine physically overheat? If low level warning light, chances are 10 to 1 that your egr cooler is leaking through to the exhaust. EGR delete kit...
  21. Re: Stay away from Polly Bushes... especially on D3 & D4

Re: After ten years in a shed. . .

Re: Amarok TSI intake valve cleaning

Just taking the sensor out and cleaning will not suffice. You actually need to push something like an earbud into the hole and turn the hub to clean the surface area on the hub. Worked for me.
