    Having owned 3 Cruisers (60, 80, 105) and now 2 Patrols (TB48, TD42Ti), I liked them all.
When used as a 4x4 should be used, but treated with respect, they will serve you well, and well for...

The NOT so Tough Dog Shocks from OL

The Patrol's one 10 000km old front Tough Dog shock started leaking oil after some Namibian corrugations.
The shock was not overly warm and did not fade.

I went to Opposite Lock in Swakop to...

Re: How much Force/Load doing a Snatch recovery...?

One of the points of this thread is, why use 10 and 12 ton kinetic equipment when based on our exercises, you don't see half even while doing an "unsafe" recovery. Safety factor in kinetic equipment...

Re: Difference between air lock and normal diff lock

Roelof, I would say now, but that is vehicle dependent too. Like on my old school 4x4's no.
To be more accurate see if you can get the manufacturer's measurements as there are physical differences...

Re: Does Tyre Diameter make a Difference?

Distance traveled in Sand with 29" tyres was 13.7 meter before it got stuck.
Same stretch of sand driven with 31" tyres, took 25.4 meter before it got stuck.
    Therefore larger diameter wheels/tyres...
