Re: Speak to me about solar geysers

I shower in the mornings. So when I have showered the water temp will be down. Then the solar panels have all day to get the water temp up and ready for the day, as well as the dishes. No battery...

Re: Speak to me about solar geysers

Just use a set of contactors. Any electrician should be able to wire it for you. Then put it on a timer. Tomorrow morning say 4h00-5h30. If the water is hot enough, no power needed.

Re: Speak to me about solar geysers

Just connect electric solar panels, in series, to your geyser. That element works fine on DC.

    Re: Upgrade my car carrier

    Been and back.

Was a trip for Tuffstuff and there were some serious health issues for the owner as well.

So I think I will just leave it at that.

Re: Prado 120 V6......How far do they Go??

Most cars go A to B. Some even make it to C.

But Land Cruisers go to Z.

    PS.
The 120 is miles above the 90. Solid car.

Hang that element on a wall socket and measure the amperage, with a tong tester. I bet it is more than the rated figure.

    Re: Upgrade my car carrier

The dizzy is sorted. The float on the shaft was 1,9mm. I have shimmed it with a copper washer and it is now about 0,1mm. So I am sure it is good. Just waiting for Cargo World in Springs to get back...

Did another recovery yesterday. The trailer brought the car home, but the zinger was to get the car off the mountain. Def not for the faint of heart.

The dizzy failed and broke the cap, twice.

Actually starting to make sense now. I fitted my axles the wrong way round and had the same issues. Until I noticed that they were directional.

The clock and anti clock sounds like they fitted the axle the wrong way around. Backwards, no breaks. So if the axle is the wrong way round, no breaks. Wonder which rocket scientist identified it.

Re: 200 VX Cruiser Power steering pump

First just add some Uniglide FRC. If that doesn't work, then work on replacing it.

It is something that has always fascinated me. Why does the steering hydraulics not have a filter?

Don't go the "eeze out" route. Rather look at the Rigid tool. Much better concept.

You can also drill a hole and use a TORX tool.
