Can you perhaps indicate the date of the graph supplied. The bottom (x-axis) information is not clear to read.

    Re: Quick Question

If we look at the pictures a lot of inverters are advertised as car or mobile inverters. It is then used by plugging into the cigar lighter. That means to use the cigar lighter you then need another...

That could be right. Li-Ion bat do have a very flat curve and do not come down steadily as per lead acid.

Re: Question for the Electricity Experts

Also something to take note of. Surge protectors like the Ellies only start clamping spikes over 300V. At that level a lot of damage can be done and too late for the protector to protect.

    Re: Home solar setup advise

I think mix can be read by some different to others. It is the same as hybrid.

Mix I think implies it mixes with any load and not just the load connected to the inverter??????

    Hybrid on cars...

Here I would agree on point 2 but with a slight difference. Move the batteries with the lowest volts to the positive connection and the highest to the negative. May be it is not worth doing it as...

The Smart version of the solar controllers needs a APP. The VE Direct you download from the Playstore is mostly not up to date. Before you can use it you have to update. This was also needed to pair...

Not long ago I helped a friend with bad battery. It was 7 years old in a 2nd car that was not used on regular BBC asis. I found that very good. Willatd only started the 2y warranty a few years ago. I...

Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Yes the inverter should have soldered fuses inside. Older models had the fuses on the outside. Better to have a fuse outside close to the battery/ies.

These timers as per the normal 220V AC timers are available for 12V locally but I can't remember who sells them.

Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

I still rate the 7A China charger shown in the blue box gr8 to keep the battery full without the need to disconnect. Not saying its close to the best but at R175 a steal for what it's doing. Not for...

Re: Looking for Loadshedding Solution - 5 hours

Thanks. But you used 850W in your calc but for only 2 hours while we were talking about 800W for 2 times a day for 2 hours each. Your total power used in calc is then 1700W/day instead of 3200W/day. ...

Re: Advice on starting a home system

One thing to get it down to R150-R250 pm. What would batteries cost if you cycle them every day - excluding Li-Ion?

My guess very little and a low ROI if any?

Older Li_Ion caused a self fuelling fire if over charged and temp rises.

In isolating the light circuit did you isolate the N as well?

Is this N switched back when you power up up the inverter from the input?

I hope you are going to add a lid on the bat box in case that battery pops?

You buy the lug with a spec of the bolt size as well as the wire size. Normally the bolt size starts at 4mm even if the wire is a 10mm.

Re: Advice on starting a home system

  32. Re: National Luna power pack - adding solar and inverter
