Re: CTek D to DC charger

Overcomplication. Just get a good smart (or 'intelligent' or 'multi-step' or whatever other term the marketing dept. dreamt up) charger and connect it directly to the battery for A/C charging.

Sounds like a faulty SKIM (Sentry Key Immobilizer Module) or key. Not sure if the ignition key dance works on that model. If not you will have to find someone to run a diagnostic scan. There are 2 or...

Re: Has anyone seen a tyre do this before?

They're not the absolute best of the best, but they certainly have a solid reputation. I wouldn't have a problem buying Wranglers if it suited my pocket and purpose.

We're a family of 4 too, and our 3x3 Tentco is perfect. The kids have Disc-o-beds that stack though, so there's a little space saving there.

Careful on the oil, the CRD takes a 5W30 which confirms to MB 229.51, the oil on your quote is the wrong viscosity and appears to confirm to MB 229.5 as far as I can tell.

Re: 2012 Jeep Compass 2.0l limited

On paper. It barely makes more power than the 2.0. It's a Jeepsubishi crossover thing, not a hot hatch.

Re: 2012 Jeep Compass 2.0l limited

If selling it isn't an option then learn to live with it. Will cost you a pretty penny to do an engine swap and you're not going to gain much from it.

    Re: Vehicle advice for newbie

You can find a Wrangler in that price bracket.

But, here's some devil's advocate, just because.......... a Land Rover Discovery V8 can be had for about R50k, more or less depending on condition....

Grand Cherokee Re: WK2 CRD battery replacement

WK2 has an AGM battery, that's why its under the seat and not in the engine bay..... AGMs aren't fond of heat.

Depends on your definition of 'recovery'. You can pull stuff with it, but I'm not sure I'd attempt a snatch recovery with it.
