    Re: Pajero Sport Thread

Pajeros went all automatic in 2003. The Sport was originally also only auto and later a few manual models were built.
The manual gearbox belongs in the same museum as the carburetor.
    Not long after...

Sticky: Re: Photos of your nissans !

I'm busy digging into boxes of old photos.
I bought one of the first 3.0 V6 5 door Sani models off the production line. My good friend and colleague bought 3.0 V6 single cab at the same time. It was...

Re: Anyone Know this Triton Please?

    That is great.
That 3.2 Mitsubishi engine is a remarkable work horse. It will keep on impressing you.
  4. Re: Pajero technical and normal advice needed

2003 was the "Facelift" year. That meant that the GLS models lost rear difflock, but was given traction and stability control. I don't think SWB Gen3 models came in GLX mode.

Re: Anyone Know this Triton Please?

Serpentine belt is not the timing belt. It is what we used to call a fanbelt
I absolutely trust that workshop and know the service manager well.

    Re: 4WD Rally conversion

The following statement is based on my recollection and I apologise in advance for any errors:
Hannes Grobler built a Skyline with a Patrol 4x4 system and a twin turbo motor (commisioned by Paul...

  10. Re: Advice needed with low powered Ford Ranger 2.2

If a sensor sends a rubbish value, the CPU doesn't see it as a "fault" to throw an error code.
We had that a while ago on my daughter's diesel Micra. The temp reading that was sent to the CPU was...

    Re: Trailblazer Tyres

    Update on my previous response:
I took to a very familiar section of twisty road the other day. Because of the lockdown I was giving the variable veins in the turbo some exercise, which meant I was...

    Re: Trailblazer Tyres

Have you got 16" Trailblazer rims?
New (aftermarket) 16" rims from the big tyre shops are really not expensive.
I paid less for 16" rims and tyres, than I would have paid for 18" tyres alone.

    Re: Trailblazer Tyres

Isn't the 16" rim on the 2.5 too narrow? That was my impression. You will never be able to fill up the wheel arches.

    Re: Zero freezer 2nd hand

I have used mine in Northern Namibia in summer and have to be very careful to not freeze my beers.
It sits in storage for months at a time, and have been for 20+ years, and is still performing as...
  15. Re: To change rims or not, what is your experience like?

How small a rim can your setup accommodate? Is it possible to go to 17" for a more substantial change?
But yes, every step in that ditection is a step away from highway setup towards offroad setup. ...

Re: New tyres fitted - floaty movements

    To the OP:
I assume wheel alignment was done when new tyres were fitted. This can also change the feel. I have experienced this in the past.

    Re: Forester sucking dust

It isn't about "fresh air". It is about positive pressure inside the car. Auto setting is only likely to recirculate air for a few minutes after start-up. After that it will have the air inlet open...

I use mine quite often. At first I thought it was just a gimmick, but it really is handy. It obviously depends what else the car gets up to after starting it.

    Re: Cheers Trailblazer, Hello MUX

You would have enjoyed the auto box in the Chevy.
I think the Everest is a good replacement for a Blazer, if you don't want the MUX.

Is that on the Prado in your profile?
    Is it auto or manual?
If manual, won't the larger wheels better suit 4th gear cruising?

    Re: Cheers Trailblazer, Hello MUX

How is the Grabber road noise?
I had them (same size as well) on my Isuzu, and the road noise was bad. I just didn't know if I should blame the car or the tyre. For that reason I didn't put them on...

Re: Tb 2.8 ltz 165 000 km service

  33. Re: Chevrolet's "support" after leaving the country

The old Blazer got itself the 75k km service on Monday. Front disc pads were replaced. The invoice claims it to be an Isuzu part. That is at least one item that should remain available in...

    Re: Increasing tyre size

Attached is an image of a graph of my fuel consumption for the last 2 years.
During that period I went from 265/60x18 to 265/75x16 wheels, an increase is circumference of about 5%. The change was...
