    Re: (Fake) Fuel Shortage

I am sure that's the case.

Although there would be a simple solution:
Allow the tanker through the border, swap the towing truck with the driver and deliver.
The towing truck could then return...

Re: Sua Pans - Kukonje North

That area is not so well travelled explaining the absence of tacks on T4A.
On of the reasons is that it is not so attractive with little to no view into the pan and mainly bushveld with cattle...

    Re: (Fake) Fuel Shortage

Maybe a lock-down could help to ease the situation, it proved to the effect to have (a lot) less vehicles on the road >:D ;D :p

Thanks for the excellent report. Enjoyed the video and comments en route as well as the story in the blog.
You just made it before the lock-down it seems.

    Re: National Parks Opens

    The question remains:

How are we guys from Gabz allowed to head into Moremi for example.
I am not sure if on-line (if it would work) allows to give reasons like "boosting local tourism" and after...

    Re: LED's in Hella Spots?

I've done it with IPF's from ARB and it works okay. (edit: Heat sink works in the rectangular chassis in the HPF)

Light output not as good as the Hella Xenon on the other vehicle.

    Today I...
  10. Re: Camping prices in Botswana is ridiculous

If you want expensive camp sites and park fees - try Zambia. Then you gladly pay up for Botswana fees.
Planning is key and research helps to get you what you look for.

Tanke the fuel price, it is...

  14. Re: Dodged a huge bullet on a dual battery solar setup.

In my opinion, the voltage settings are to high for a lead acid battery.

The absorption voltage should not be more than the max voltage output of the alternator (14.1V)

    You will notice that the...

    Re: Dec/January trip advise

If you do the Lower Zambezi on the Zambia side there is little need to do Mana Pools just across the river.

But in any case, the Mana to Vic Falls route via Chizarira and Binga could become a...

    Re: Botswana February 2020 trip

    Re: Booking Fees amid Avid-19

  22. Re: Botswana Borders Virtually Closed for Travellers from SA

So you are lucky not to lose out when you postpone (wise decision).

    Re: Distance and voltage drop

You can use normal 1.5 sqmm installation wire, better a flexible multicore (2-wire) double insulation cable, for reasons of breaking or damage when handling.

    Re: Distance and voltage drop

At this amperage draw and distance the cable cross section or resistance with respect to voltage drop is largely irrelevant.
It comes into play with higher currents say 10 Amps and above.

Re: Lodges remaining open in Botswana

  34. Re: May 2020 Botswana safari - will it happen?
