Re: Talk to me about solar for house.

What complicates things immensely is that any car will do it.

Hard fact, there is no optimal or best system or solution.

    For the morning.

    EMMIE HEEELP

Is there the slightest possibility that there is an error in the recipe.

I am looking at the ratio of water to sugar.

HEEELP - the Jelly Baby is going to take over my kitchen.

    Wrong product for the application.

Sadly though, a supplier is going to have to take a knock in his GP for no fault of his own.

    Re: "Affordable" foldable solar panels

One needs to think carefully and be pragmatic with Solar Panel cable sizing.

It is nowhere near as important as you think, unlike the cables on the battery side.

Re: Wiring from Inverter on Jurgens Oryx

He is of course entirely correct. You would need to make doubly sure that both the inverters output and the external power never meet.

A simple change over switch wired into the van will sort this...

Re: Solar system for off grid camping

You know a Unimog or Iveco is a great overland vehicle, but a bit of a handful as a daily driver.

Dont look at the specs of the panels.

Go and try to manhandle one in person.

Then use the Standards as a Guide to Good Practices.

May help you in the case of an insurance claim if the system is compliant in the applicable areas.

    Could also save somebodies life.

  23. Re: Which regulations cover the safety of an alternate supply connected to switchboar

That is the UPS internal circuit.

You still need the external bypass switch.

The main reason for the external bypass is for safety should something go wrong with the UPS and it needs to be...

It's one or the other. Not sometimes and selective.

Either no tolls anywhere, or user pays.

You cant make me pay local tolls AND remove the tolls in Gauteng and add it to my fuel bill.

    Re: E-toll outcome

Everybody coming into Durban does pay tolls already. Marianhill N3 West, Tongaat N2 North, Port Shepstone N2 South.

E-Toll or Pay Booth, doesnít matter, thatís just the payment mechanism.
