  1. Re: 11 months to E. Africa and back and...plans and updates

Thank you. This post has the best description I can recall, of the "05 road" northwards from South Luangwa, up the escarpment, to the Great North Road.
  2. Re: Pajero Sport vs Pajero: why the big price difference?

Tony, although I am by no means a vehicle fundi, I really think you have made a very sound choice.

During a 55,000km East African trip 10 years ago, our constant coming and going travel companion...
  3. Re: 11 months to E. Africa and back and...plans and updates

Bud and Mary back on the road after quarantining near Kasane and now in Zambia at Liuwa Plains.
  4. Re: 10 days in Malawi - what would you do?

I agree 100% and have done a similar dosing for bilharzia prophylaxis. It seems ridiculous to visit Malawi and avoid swimming in the lake because of the risk of bilharzia. Anywhere along the...
  5. Re: 11 months to E. Africa and back and...plans and updates

WW, Bud and Mary are busy quarantining in Kasane having tested positive for Covid when hoping to cross into Zambia. Previously fully vaccinated and apparently not too ill at all.

Re: LC79 series replacement rear bumper

I have had first an Onca and then a Gobi X rear bumper and double spare wheel swing carrier. My preference is for the Gobi X product although both are good.

  12. Re: My Cookshack - Barbeque Area now complete Correction

Thanks for posting and well done Mike.

At our age it is a problem learning new techniques but even a bigger problem is remembering what you learnt, for the next time it is needed.

    Re: Matusadona September 21 report

And well done to you Mike, for keeping your finger on the pulse. I love Matusadona and think it should form part of more Zimbabwe itineraries.
  14. Re: TRIP REPORT: Cape Town to Kruger and back on some roads less travelled.

Indeed, would love to cross paths and chew the fat a bit!

Thank you for the very positive input.
  15. Re: TRIP REPORT: Cape Town to Kruger and back on some roads less travelled.

Pedro just to affirm that this report is most enjoyable and well worth the trouble you are taking over it. Thank you. Wish more would find the energy to share their experiences in one form or the...

Re: Trip Update, we are in Botswana

Bud, people vary, but most sensible people would advise avoiding any shenanigans to pay lesser fines. This is simple bribery and corruption in many cases and is not the way people would behave back...

Re: Trip Update, we are in Botswana

Hi Bud and Mary. You can buy graphite powder in puffer bottles for the locks. Lubricates very well without gumming up with dust. Can get it from most locksmiths. We even lubricate our camping zips...
