  9. Re: 1999 KZTE Hilux 4x4: locating central locking relay

Hi, no tracking device. I'm pretty sure it's the central locking as 8 months ago I had the same problem and after servicing the motor the problem went away completely. And the Auto-electrician said...
  10. Re: 1999 KZTE Hilux 4x4: locating central locking relay

I thought of that, but I have no idea what that looks like and where that motor is located. Any advice?
  11. Re: 1999 KZTE Hilux 4x4: locating central locking relay

I use the absolute best auto-electrician in Mthatha - the state of my wiring is not his fault, its a 20-year old car with a long history.

He found the problem after 3 different Auto-electricians...
  12. 1999 KZTE Hilux 4x4: locating central locking relay

    Hi everyone

My central locking has been draining my battery. My auto-electrician serviced the central locking mechanism which resolved the issue for a few months, but as he explained might happen,...
  13. Where can I find a rear diff for my 1999 KZTE hilux 4x4 (3 litre Diesel) ?

    Hi all,
The rear diff on my old faithful 1999 KZTE 4x4 (5L motor) is kaput. Not fixable. For the past month I've been without a car trying to find a 2nd hand diff with no success. I have searched on...

  15. Re: Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

If a High Ace needs a new chassis - does the car licensing system (NATIS) verify that the new chassis is a Hi-Ace chassis? Or do you just give them the new chassis number?
  16. Re: Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

    Clever idea.

What about just buying the 4x4 components in Lesotho and fitting them to a standard Hi-Ace in SA? What exactly is the difference between our Hi-Ace and their Hi-Ace? is it the same...
  17. Re: Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

I wonder if it would be "legal" to have my Lesotho friend buy car and then I rent it from him on a long term basis. I know that hire-cars can be taken across the border?
  18. Re: Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

    What is a TIP?
  19. Re: Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

    Thanks everyone for the advice.

As far as the driver training goes - I agree to a certain extent but I have to say we got unlucky with our vehicles too. Our drivers own old Hilux's that crawl...
  20. Re: Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

Hi Henris - Are these legally available in South Africa? I thought you could only pick these up 2nd hand in Lesotho/other SADC and then it was illegal to bring them into SA?
  21. Best 10-seater 4x4 for bad gravel and tar roads

    Hello all,

I'm helping a community lodge in a remote part of the Transkei called Bulungula. The roads here are very bad and every 2nd day the lodge shuttle must cover 100km of tar road and 90km of...
