Re: Solar panels, Inverter, Batteries options

Goodwe inverter, about 4.6kW in panels (can't remember the make) and two Pylontech US3000 batteries. The inverter is 4.6kW which is pretty much the peak load for us so I bought this from the start. ...

It probably isn't far off. After reading something as enviable as the post so early in the morning, one might need a drink.

This is not a Bush Lapa specific mod but something I thoroughly enjoyed building.

It is interesting how many good habits we pick up from riding a motorcycle, both in terms of driving ability and awareness.

    Sticky: Re: WC member spotting

Spotted a Wrangler on the N1 this morning (incoming). I waved but I don't think people see the forum sticker on the bike's top box. And then I'm gone.

    "mechanical sympathy" I like that!

Unfortunately not. I've a few things, even glad wrap but nothing seems to work. Ideally it should be available in smaller tubes but it isn't.

Silicone het 'n baie beperkte leeftyd. Sikaflex is 'n bonding/ sealant waarmee busse aanmekaar gesit word. Sikaflex is duur, maar "for life".

On Monday morning it was 53.6% full. Yesterday it reached 60%. And I'm sure there's more run-off still going in. And Monday another front is hitting us.

Vir my is dit 'n baie vreemde plek om 'n skeur te kry. Miskien speel daai klein silwer pennetjie thnigie langs die skeur 'n rol? Skaaf of knyp teen die "deksel"? Baie vreemd.

If you took the bike this morning, hats off to you! I'm not a fair weather biker but this morning the wind scared me just a bit too much and I took the bakkie. That doesn't happen often.

JB's Nissan in Malmesbury is really good.

I use Droomers in Paarl for large services - happy with their service but they're not cheap. I save about R2500 to R3000 changing oil, oil filter and...

    Re: Km/l or l/100 km

Technically that is kWh / month or just kW (1 kWh per hour = 1kW).

But your argument is spot on. W is energy per second, i.e. consumption of energy.

    Re: Nissan Pathfinder

There were some clutch issues on early model Navara's, probably the same for Pathfinders. If I remember correctly, pre-2010 2.5TD's. Other than that, it's probably one of the most reliable drive...

Geysers themselves are actually quite well insulated. Put your hand on a "hot" geyser and it's relatively cool. The bigger problem are the pipes running to and from the geyser. And they are quite...

Re: Mounting solar panels on your roof rack

I think I might be overthinking it a bit. I have a spare 100W panel in the garage that I want to use, but my creativity might be getting away from me. Flat would be a lot simpler.

    :)

    Thanks
