    Re: D3 TDV6 - What a monster tow vehicle!

The capability of the D3 was truly exceptional for the era - if you think that it was launched about 15 years ago and is still truly world class in so many areas is amazing.

    With that comes a lot...

    2004 Forester Tyre Size Increase

    Hi Guys

Good to be back on this section of the forum.

    Recently found a 2004 2.5X Forester Manual with only 98 000 km and full Subaru service history including a R 18 000 “100 000km” service...

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT3g (owners review)

The standard AT3 is horrific with road noise!

A friend has some on a 4x2 X Trail and it is literally louder at highway speed than when I had Hankook MT on my Triton or Defender.

100% with you on unnecessary crap on modern cars.

I need AC, some airbags, central locking, decent radio and electric windows.

  6. Re: Looking for a capable everyday 4x4/Softroader

I’m running the same exercise at the moment - my bakkie is getting to the age where I’ve got big service (200 000km) and likely a clutch due for replacement within the next 20 000km.

    As an aside,...

    Re: New Defender arrived today

When most of these cars (modern Land Rovers as far back as when I worked there in 2008-2011) come from factory they’re in a restricted access mode - limited to 40 or 60 km/h and air suspension locked...

Ford & Mazda Re: Ranger low rider suspension lift

If it's the normal twin pipe rear tow bar it'll be a helluva lot easier, cheaper and more reliable to find a decent engineering shop to make new brackets that will move the tow bar higher up.

Re: Nissan Np 300 tour vehicle

I was unfortunate enough to drive one of those 2.4s out of the Umkomaas Valley.

Literally 2nd gear redline, 3rd gear...back down to 2nd. And repeat endlessly.

    Re: New Bronco pics leaked

Agree - if it's priced right (suppose Fortuner / Everest or slightly more) it will do well.

Also, most of us would kill for a base spec model (cloth seats, AC, Airbags) that offers a good engine...

Re: Kumho vs Wrangler vs General Grabber

I see some sizes of the Grabber do come in a more expensive LT spec - not sure of this means 3 ply sidewall or just more rubber on the tread but worth investigating.

Thinking of moving from my current bakkie that's been mostly good to me to a Hilux 2.5 SRX.
