    Re: Is this it?

Exactly that. Any business aim towards increasing their bottom line and meeting the expectations of the bulk or core of their customers.

Sadly in Fontuin's case, LR has clearly moved out of that...

    Re: Is this it?

Any person with half a business brain will know that a product that was a top revenue generator 10 years ago, might not necessarily be generating that same revenue today. The quickest way to close...

    Re: Is this it?

That was indeed the marketing ages ago. That changed years ago already when LR ventured into modern society. Don't blame the Defender, blame their marketing department for moving on with the times...

    Re: Is this it?

Ok, I'm still missing this philosophy from Land Rover that they've apparently missed.

Don't get me wrong, I love Defenders, but I think it is more a case of people being resistant to change than...

    Re: Is this it?

What is this apparent design philosophy from a 21st century safety and market related perspective?

You know the LC 70 series days are numbered right? For the same reason as the aged Defender...

    Re: Bush lapa miskruier review

The only part that doesn't like wind is the rods holding the covers over the beds. Mine popped off this weekend in some nasty wind. I recall Kooskop having a mod for it (will have to search a bit)

    Re: Is this it?

Just had a drive in a new Defender and I'm quite impressed. I just love the basic yet functional interior and commanding driving position. Throwbacks of the old Defender dash, S1 centre console and...

    Re: Is this it?

That rear view picture shows exactly why the new Defender is a brilliant 21st century design incorporating the key nostalgic Defender traits. The side profile , square back, side opening rear door,...

    Re: When are campsites opening?

I see that lots of caravan parks are opening up, although this section in Gazette doesn't explicitly mention caravan parks and camping (unless they are categorized as resorts). I guess a matter of...

This is incorrect. Camping is not specified anywhere as being open as of yet.

I do however know that several privately owned campsite are open for business. Just don't expect an invoice...

Re: Bush Lapa : experience HIS beauty @

At least my BL is experiencing that straight from the carport where she has been parked for the past 4 months. >:D

It's on my to do list for today to take her out and get the wheels rolling a bit.

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

True, although they've started that repositioning process long, long ago already. Some people just chose to ignore the progressive change and now it's to much to cope with in one go. I promise you...

    Re: Bush Lapa general discussions

That's quite strange. I've queried my premium twice already and it can't be lowered apparently. All my other insurance (house, 2 cars, all risk items etc) are with them and I'm on the best risk...

    Re: Bush Lapa general discussions

Myne is ook dit by Santam vir R640, maar in die groter prentjie is my premie en diens heelwat beter as die ander waar ek al by was. Kyk bv jou bybetaling ook. My vorige versekeraar wou n 30%...

Re: Tankwa Karoo and Old Postal Route

Thanks. The 1st crossing is the big one so you would've approached it similar to my picture above (from the left). 400mm wow, so it was pretty much a full flowing rivier.

    Re: Is this it?

Hmm ... I wonder if soldiers also moaned back in the day when they got upgraded from a Lee-Enfield to a machine gun for warfare? Imagine the unions staging strikes demanding their old weapons back....

    Re: Is this it?

That is one of the reasons why it probably won't be practical for me unfortunately (the other one being the price tag and the % drop it'll take over the 1st three years). My sons are 5 and 6 so I'm...

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

You're 100% correct. It could be an awesome Defender (or Cruiser / G Wagon / what else?) replacement possibility with the overall market not really focusing on those rugged "basic" type vehicles. ...

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

I don't think it's a matter of criticizing the vehicle as such, but more a matter of pointing out that this is not a Land Rover and shouldn't be regarded as a Defender or its replacement.

    It is...

If they're happy to move away from Land Rover, yes by all means. I would honestly then rather go 76 series Cruiser.
