2011 2.2 Crdi Santa Fe - good vehicle?
Had a looky at a 2011 Santa Fe 2.2 Crdi AWD A/T today.
Its in more or less immaculate condition (by my standards, not that of the car smous).
Fairly high mileage, 259K. Full service records. Not a ding or scratch anywhere.
Are they good vehicles? Will it last a few more kilometers?
Whats the average fuel consumption on these?
Sorry for all the Q's but I really like this old SUV ;D
Re: 2011 2.2 Crdi Santa Fe - good vehicle?
I'd say try and find a second hand engine or even just a crank sensor. Get back to us.
Re: 2011 2.2 Crdi Santa Fe - good vehicle?
Good engine and powerful. Open road 14km/l, city around 10.
BUT, awd gearbox give problems if abused or different size tyres used. ( YouTube)
So if serious, take out the cover/insurance for these potential failures. Spares are scarce and expensive. Gearbox overhaul R35k. New tranfer R75k. Centre rear diff R25-40k....

Not very inspiring comments thus far....
Anyone who as owned one care to comment?
Re: 2011 2.2 Crdi Santa Fe - good vehicle?
I still own one. Now on 236000km. Very nice car, but disconnected the wire that engage 4wd on rear centre diff. Thus only 2x4 now and still magic, after I had to do gearbox as above. Rest too expensive and 2nd hand scarce.
It is a very nice car, but you can expect problems with that Km soon. Know of at least 2 others with same problems I had. Therefore recommendation on insurance.

Common rail diesel also more expensive to repair in many regards.
That's not the vehicle you want to take a chance on or buy at high mileage.

Hmm
So maintenance and repairs will become high on one of these. Strange I had no issues (aside from being very thirsty) with my 2.5 Sorento AWD with around 200k on the clock.
I already have a Ford, I don't want another workshop whore ;D
Explains why its sold at a very good price for its immaculate condition, and they will give a good trade in price for my Frod.
