I'm pretty sure I've got it. This next riddle tells us a lot about ourselves!
Billy the boet from Potgietersrus
ran a successful garden service
He was saving his dough
for who could know
when he will meet Miss Right
This lead to the odd fight
with his mamma so caring;
"move out and be more daring!"
One day he was dragged
to a funeral of some hag
whom he had never met
But it was there he met the lovely Sunette
daughter of the lady being buried
his jaw dropped, his heartbeat felt hurried
but he mustered the courage to ask for her name;
no moment before ever felt the same.
He was broken to hear
she lived in Maclear
and would leave the next morning.
He could never return to his life so boring
and the two danced the night away
he begged her to stay
but she said no way
I have pets at home, perhaps some other day?
Feeling dejected
but far from rejected
Sunette was all he could think of
His mother backed off
giving him space
"gather your thoughts, find your own place!"
So a week passed but you'll be aghast
to hear Billy's mom passed
in a most brutal manner
bludgeoned to death with a spanner
Billy was careful when he committed the crime
he didn't spend a single dime until such time
he was cleared of suspicion
laying his mother to rest was a mission
for he swore he was out with a bloke
and the two shared some rums with Coke
the bloke corroborated the story
for Billy arrived with no signs of gory
on his body and clothes
courtesy of sunlight and a hose.
Why did Billy do it?
So the girlie Sunette would return for the funeral
