We have just returned from a 14 day camping trip in Namibia, (March April 2016) 5380km traveled, 836 liter 50ppm diesel, avg price (Namibia and ZA) was about R9.80. I was towing a Sprite tourer SW.
Empty its 1150kg, we were 3 adults and luggage, I am guessing caravan GVM was 1350 and 550kg on the double cab. Anything between 80 and 130 km per hr, tar and gravel. Included about 500km of 4x4 in Henties sand. (the fishing was poor) Avg consumption over the whole trip 6.4 km per liter.
The Toyota has 156000km on the clock. It has never given a days trouble. Just for interest sake, cost's, diesel R8192, campsites R4550, food beer etc R5600, Nam car tax R400, extras R1000, total R19742,this for three adults.
