I own a Mazda 2.5 Club 4x4 (2009)
The bakkie was heavy on juice and lacking power.
Followed the great advice on this forum and sent it to get the injector pump calibrated, also did my injectors. (last week)
2 errors on the pump and
1 on the injectors. (asked for a report, will be sending it to ford mazda)
The bakkie is now driving ALLOT better and is much more responsive.
I was hoping it would solve my diesel consumption problem but it only helped a bit! Don't get me wrong not doing the pump & injectors would of been the wrong move.
The guy (when dropping off the bakkie) said that the bakkie is now much better than what it was (I agree), but he said there is still SOMETHING
wrong! He said he knows the 2.5 Mazda & Ford's and he can tell me it is not totally right yet.
He said I must have a look at the VALVE CLEARANCE!
Now I'm no mechanic so here is where I ask for some help or guidance in the right direction.
I have a basic idea of vale clearance but the procedure is alien to me.
Is it a big job, lost of moola? and is it worth having a look at this as the possible suspect.
Just to let you guys know: The car was serviced on 50 000 (dealers) is now on 52000.
Pump & injectors were done +- 700km ago [last week]
Little "siffie" inline with the diesel pump I also cleaned as per this great forum's help (actually did this first)
The turbo is apparently good as they measured the boost and it was all good. (someone said I must check the turbo)
I hope there is someone that has some expendable knowledge on this matter.
