Took this pic somewhere near Solitaire i think. Anyone knows what the purpose of this is?

Picture is taken lower down towards Helmeringhausen. We have the same and our guess is that it is some kind of a radio tower used by the army many years back.

no idea on its official use, just looks like a glorified water tower to me - either something far more interesting or a someone with too much time and scrap metal on his hands

Owen I agree, maybe controlled by telemetry? Two storage tanks and a lot of pipework.
