Default Jeep XJ 2.5td Engine oil drain plug?

Hi this might be a reaally stupid question, but after looking at the manual and doing some google searches i cannot find anu useful info. Im trying to change the engine oil in my XJ but cannot work out which is the drain plug? Theres a square section under the motor (sump?) and has a bolt in the bottom, in the centre (looks like a torx bolt or something)...is this it?

Im scared to remove something i shouldnt...

thanks

I would get a Jeep part to replace, Should not cost much. Proberbly easier than trying to find a same thread plug with the right shape.

Getting out a stripped sump plug will be interesting...

Maybe just remove the whole sump... with a Big drip tray underneath

That might be Impereal Alan key so metric might not work the way you think it should. And I agree with Biggles. Get sump plug from Jeep.

This is advice for all Jeep owners. Get yourself a workshop manual for your Model of Jeep. I do all my services on my 4.7 WJ Jeep myself and you wount believe how much money you can save by doing it yourself. The manual will also help find small problems yourself and fix it yourself.

But off coarse if your jeep is still under warinty or motor plan, you will have to take it to the dealers.

One thing that also helps allot, eaven if your service interville is 10 000 km, still do a oil change every 5000 km yourself. It will save you lots of money in the long run.
