Another Pommie!..........Welcome Dockgreen. Enjoy your stay on the forum......they're a decent bunch here, but with a tendency to get a bit over-excited about food burnt over an open fire. I hope you will get this new vehicle of yours a bit dirty occasionally!

Dockgreen,

Welcome. I've had a similiar vehicle in the past, the 2.7CRD is a fantastic motor. The only thing that I've heard about (but not experienced), is the turbo, but if you look after it, it shouldn't give you any hassles. It is the same motor that Mercedes used in the C270, etc. but it's a 5 cylinder, with a lot of torque.

I had some diff problems, but I think it was due to an accident that the previous owner had, that the salesman "forgot" to tell me about, even after I enquired.

Overall it is a very comfortable vehicle.

Hi Dockgreen, it's always great to welcome fellow Jeepers to the forum.

I cannot help with info on the diesel engine, but the WJ GC is a great vehicle. Enjoy it !!

Welcome to the forum!
There are a couple of interesting threads on 2.7 CRD JGC here.

The 2.7 CRD is great value for money as a second owner.

1. Service it according to the service schedule and use the correct lubricants.

2. Do not drive it too hard (<2000rpm) until the engine temp is >60ºC

3. Give the turbo time to cool down.

The above is really applicable to all diesels, I suppose.

Lastly you must use it and enjoy it!
